• Secret Lab Titan – Worth $400? Overview I want to start off by saying this is NOT a paid review. I was not sent this chair for free to review. My own, hard-earned money was spent on the Titan and I will therefore, be providing you with an unbiased review. 🙂 Now, back to our regularly scheduled program. Secret Lab is a very popular gaming chair manufacturer that offers a few different models, for all shapes and sizes. The main focus here will be on the Titan, though I will mention recommendations later on for those smaller body types. The Secret Lab Titan is rated for up to 290 lbs, with a max recommended height of 6’4″. The smaller model, named Omega, is rated for 240 lbs and max height of 5’9″. I am 5’10”, 170 lbs, so I am right in the middle of these two. Ultimately I chose the Titan, as you can imagine by the title of this article, but let me tell you why. When purchasing my new chair I had a couple requirements: Good back and posture support. Lots of adjustment, especially with the armrests. Comfortable enough to sit in for 10+ hours a day. Aesthetics were definitely a plus, but not a requirement. Why I chose the Titan: To me, the clear winner was the Titan. Yes, there are other great chairs out there, however not all of them meet the above requirements I had. I chose the Titan over the Omega for two big reasons: Larger. This means less restriction and less sweating. Back Support. The Titan has built in, adjustable, lumbar support. Larger I was concerned when purchasing a PU leather chair that after sitting and working for 10+ hours a day, I would get hot. Now I am not really a...
  • AmpliFi HD WiFi Router Review Deciding on a wireless router or system can be difficult with all the options out there. We’re here to help. The attractive and powerful AmpliFi HD Wireless Router has it’s benefits, and limitations. It comes in priced just a bit more than that of it’s competition, Google Wifi and Netgear Obri. AmplilFi starts at $139 for just the router, and $339 for the complete mesh solution. Pros Easy to setup Router is attractive and has LCD touchscreen More advanced features over it’s competition Very large coverage area at 10,000 sq ft with router and two meshpoints. 6,000 sq ft covered with router alone. Cons Upper end of price range compared to similar solutions Unattractive and bulky mesh points Features 4 gigabit ethernet LAN ports and 1 gigabit ethernet WAN port. 802.11AC wireless capabilities USB Port – It’s rumored that they are going to allow support for a network connected USB drive via a firmware upgrade. Unfortunately this has not been announced yet and there is currently no use for it. Max throughput: 1750 Mbps 3X3 MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) LCD touch screen that displays time, monthly data used, current download/upload speeds, and port status. Management The AmpliFi router is very easy to manage, yet lacks some advanced features if you are a network nerd like myself. It is primarily managed by your phone via the AmpliFi app, although it also has a web interface. The web interface has very limited features. In the app you can change the LAN network, DHCP scope, static addresses, and other basic features. Verdict In conclusion, AmpliFi is a great plug and play solution that looks great (other than the mesh points) and should exceed your expectations. If you are looking for a simple, fast, and expandable wireless solution,...
